Peet Hiddink

Peet Hiddink (Nijmegen 1960) studied History of Art at the Rijksuniversiteit of Utrecht and specialized in design, particularly from the art nouveau and art deco periods. She gives lectures and courses and organizes tours about this subject.

Her interest in photography started already when she was a child, but only in the 1990‘s she started to occupy herself more fully with photography. In 1996 en 1997 she received a short education and followed some courses at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam.
Initially, she concentrated on travel photography. Besides landscapes and architecture, she was particularly interested in photographing street live, and taking pictures of people of many different cultures, in colour as well as in black and white.
Over the last years her interest shifted towards photographing flowers. This resulted in a.o. a series of 'flower portraits'.
A number of her photographs have been published as postcards by Biri Publications in Uithoorn, Unicef in Geneva and Stichting Kinderpostzegels Nederland.
Since 2008 she is a member of the artists association Arti-Shock.
